Dufferin County Official Plan Review
Dufferin County is Updating its Official Plan
The Official Plan is the County’s vision for the future. This review process will help answer the following questions:
Where will future residents live?
What types of houses will be built?
Where will people work?
How will we move around the County?
How will we protect our agricultural areas and natural features?
We are expecting to grow 95,000 in population and 39,000 in jobs by 2051 according to the growth forecast release by the Province!
One key element of this review process is to engage with people in our community! We want to hear from you.

CLOSED: This survey has concluded.
Dufferin County is undertaking a Municipal Comprehensive Review (MCR) of its Official Plan, which will result in an updated Official Plan to guide growth and manage change for the next 25 years. The MCR process will aim to:
- Be inclusive and respectful towards the citizens of Dufferin County and local municipalities;
- Actively listen to citizens in order to build a collaborative vision that represents the community’s values;
- Encourage citizens to get involved in the long-term plan of their community; and,
- Be transparent and accountable through ongoing communication and reporting back on what was heard.
On March 3, 2020, a Public Open House was held to invite members of the community to learn more about the MCR process, ask questions, and participate in a visioning exercise, including the development of a vision statement and defining goals for key themes. The event was promoted on the County’s website and social media platforms. The event took place at Monora Park Pavilion in Mono from 6:30 - 8:30 PM. We received a lot of great feedback and thank those who took the time to participate.
A vision statement and goals that are representative of the community’s values are key to guiding the MCR process and updating the Official Plan. The following draft vision statements and goals have been prepared by the Project Team in an effort to consolidate the community input received, and to guide the preparation of Official Plan policies.
We are now looking for your feedback on the vision statement and goals to confirm if we heard correctly / got it right. The following survey should take roughly 10 minutes to complete.
