The year 2018 marks 100 years since the outbreak of a nearly forgotten pandemic, the 1918 Flu commonly known as Spanish Influenza.

The Flu reached Dufferin County by October of 1918, disrupting social and economic norms, placing stress on medical resources, and devastating families with the loss of loved ones.

To recognize the impact and significance of the Spanish Influenza epidemic on Dufferin County, the Museum of Dufferin has launched an online exhibition titled Sufferin' in Dufferin: The Spanish Flu 1918-1919 available at www.dufferinmuseum.com.

Do you have a Spanish Influenza story to share? The Archives at the Museum of Dufferin would love to hear from you. Information connected to people in the exhibit would be greatly appreciated, and YOUR story will continue to tell OUR history. Stories will be archived in the museum’s online database Dufferin Genealogy.
