What is the MoD's mandate?
The Museum of Dufferin's mandate is to collect, preserve and interpret the history of Dufferin County.
When did the museum open?
The Museum of Dufferin (formery the Dufferin County Museum & Archives) opened in 1994.
Where is the museum located?
The museum is located in the beautiful hills of the Township of Mulmur. The museum is the big green barn with the red roof at the corner of Highway 89 and Airport Road. The address is 936029 Airport Road, Mulmur, Ontario L9V 0L3.
Who owns and operates the Museum of Dufferin?
The MoD is owned and operated by the County of Dufferin.
Can I donate objects or documents to the museum?
Yes, provided the donation meets our mandate and follows the guidelines laid out in our collections policy. If you wish to make a donation, please contact our Curator (for objects) or Archivist (for paper-based documents). MoD Staff Directory
How is the museum funded?
The museum is funded in part through the County of Dufferin's operating budget, and in part by grants.
Is the museum wheelchair accessible?
The MoD is equipped with accessible doors and an elevator. Unfortunately some of the museum's historic buildings (i.e. 2nd floor of the Dufferin House) are not wheelchair accessible.
How long does it take to tour through the museum?
We recommend spending at least 1 hour to tour through the museum exhibits, but we welcome you to take your time and stay longer.
What ages is the museum appropriate for?
